Hi everyone

I arrived in Dalian a few days ago. I live in Zhongshan district close to Shangri-La hotel and am really enjoying exploring the area.

I have a few questions I hope someone can answer.

1. Does anyone know of a shop where they sell health and fitness tablets and food products and preferably in Zhongshan area. There is a store called GMC overseas. I'm looking for something similar.

2. Overseas I could always get my hands on new movies on dvd from China. Where would I be able to buy new DVD movies in English?

3. Does anyone know if and where I can get Halal meat?

Around the San ba square which is near the zhong shan square has a Carrefour.There is a medicine supermarket on the shang hai road which is near Russian street and not far from the Zhong shan square.
I think you can get new DVD in the xin hua book store and they are more expensive than piratic ones.

So just buy pirate

Definitely, the TOS MUST be rewritten! This article implies that violating the PRC Law is of the same degree as "bringing trouble to the site"!

1. Walmart in Olympic Square or Xian Lu, u will find almost all commodities, also health supplements in the medicine section. The same in Carrefour too......and also in other supermarkets too.
2. In all the medicine shops also, u will find dietary supplements.
3. in Xinhua Bookstore, you'll find English books as well as English DVD's and CD's.
4. I have no idea about halal meat, tat you can ask in any of the thousands restaurants here in Dalian, maybe u'll be able to find a place where they sell "halal meat"
5. try making a card of METRO supermarket chain and explore the METRO of dalian.........u'll be able to locate many things including many choices of wine, lebels in English.

I hope to find some good stuff from this site
