Re:Daisies 7 Months ago
Well Heiney, as you probably don't know, English and especially American English can adopt many other languages to make it more their own. Since you are from the State just north of me, you probably don't know or realize that loads of Floridians speak this way every day. But its not only in Florida, its in urban New York State, California and others. "Muy caliente" is a way to express and emphasize "very hot" in a colorful way and we white folks in the States do it. Also adopted is the language of the Taco Bell dog, "Yo quierro Taco Bell" and when I was a college kid, this was a way to tell friends, "lets go and get some fast nonhamburger food". To further my point, look at Tofu. In America we also call doufu as Tofu which almost sounds exactly like the Chinese representation, save for a little subtle t for d sound. It is just adopted from Chinese. Sure we could also say beancurd but whats the fun in that?

Having said this, I am guilty of one thing on this post. I was too creative in describing Daisy Fuentes. What I should have said was "Daisy Fuentes is a very good looking woman" and then it would have been more boring as it should be. For this I must apologize.
