Re:Victory day 5 Months ago
For those of you not too familiar with world history, there are two celebrations for the end of WW2.

The first:

Victory in Europe: News of the surrender broke in the West on May 8, and celebrations erupted throughout Europe. In the United States, Americans awoke to the news and declared May 8 V-E Day. As the Soviet Union was to the east of Germany it was May 9 Moscow Time when German military surrender became effective, which is why Russia and many other European countries east of Germany commemorate Victory Day on May 9.

The second:

The United States dropped atomic bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima (August 6) and Nagasaki (August 9). On August 8 the Soviets invaded Japanese-held Manchuria, as agreed at Yalta. On August 15, 1945 Japan surrendered, ending the war.[135]and VJ Day was celebrated.

Therefore there is no WW2 Victory Day as such.

Victory Palza surely is a celebration of pure Capitalisim?

Re:Victory day 5 Months ago
There is two selebrations but not everywhere.
You are right - 8/9 of May is Victory on Germany (signed german capitulation with SU and G

And I thought that exactly this day is used to give name to Victore Plaza here in Dalian. I do not think that the name given for capitalism because China is not capitalistic country at all.
The question is still open. Who knows the right answer?

PS Is Dalian reliased from Japan by Soviet Union?

Hey Mamont, China is becoming one of the most capitalistic countries in the world and its good to see. Problems will happen but China will come out of it a much better society competing with other powers and nations on an even level especially when the yuan is floated with all other world currencies
