Ther Modern Houses in the Japanese Street 2 Years, 5 Months ago
The vast majority of the houses in the Japanese Street (near qiqi jie) are laying empty, despite being developed 5 years ago.
I was curious why this is. Of course the housing developer could be speculating on house prices (thusnot lowering offer prices), but are there any other reasons, such as legal blocks/regulations, inability to sell because of transfers in ownership between property companies, etc?

I heard from a local that recently purchased close by that the houses are over $1000 USD/sqm and don't have any parking. Parking was supposed to be the key issue given in the price range any buyer would have 1 or 2 cars. Also given the Japanese street is somewhat of a tourist stop buyers are also not interested in having their place gawked at.

I would think that anyone wanting to live in those houses was asking for trouble with no privacy and all and sundry looking through windows whenever they felt like it. And with no garage the type of person willing to pay that price is asking for vandalism of their vehicles night or day.
