i think everyone needs to relax and concentrate on their tangible relationships vs those of the shoutbox variety. this is the internet, it isn't that important.

As long as there is a forum and a shoutbox, as long as there is a community to connect with, as long as there are people who need our help, I promise I would do my best to insure that this site stays afloat. Certain issues are not up to me but I will do what I can to make things right and for many friends who come here as a lifeline, I agree to this analogy and for this reason, I need to fight harder to keep it afloat. The Miami Dolphan has spoken, down with the Pats and Colts, there is only one undefeated Super Bowl Champion in the history of the NFL. Oh and coming from New York, them Giants for the NFC are as beloved, loved that last drive in the most exciting 4th quarter of Super Bowl History, long live Marino and Manning.

The thing is Ethan that many of the friendships that started here are tangible. In the short time I've been in Dalian I've met at least 10 of the folks that post here and talked to others on the phone.

This site is supposed to be about making connections with other people who are in the same boat as you: a stranger in a foreign land.

It's not supposed to be the vehicle for one man to make money.

Huangdi,
I know your heart is in the right place when it comes to this site.

As for your taste in football teams... well, let's just say that we'll have to take it up on another thread.

I don't have a problem with someone making money as long as it's not off my back. An xpat website from it's very nature can generate cash from advertisers who want to attract foreigners. I don't ever remember this being a not for profit organisation or a charity! So as long as the website is doing what it should do, I have no problems, after all who is putting the hours and work in the users or the owners/ volunteers ?

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Isn't the idea of an open letter that the letter gets answered openly by the person that was intended to be the receiver?

So how come there are many, totally irrelevant, answers from people that are obviously not the intended receiver and we still did not hear anything from the owner of the site?

cheers

Iso
