Are there any good hospitals for foreigners to go to here? I have been 2 times now, once to a clinic (travel sickness) and once to Dalian Center Hospital (I had a temperature of 103.4 Fahrenheit - 39.6 Celsius) and both times they have tried to hook me up to a glucose IV and put me on herb soups.
Any suggestions?

Two points:
1. If you are employed by anyone with an FAO (eg. University), contact them and they will sort you out. That is one of the things that they are paid to do.
2. If you want urgent treatment, then you need a Chinese "friend"/interpreter.
I have had treatment at both the Number One and the Number Two Hospitals attached to Dalian Medical University. At both I got good and prompt treatment without having to pay very much. But none of the doctors spoke much, if any, English. Only when I had dental treatment at No. 2 Hospital did the dentist speak good English and was up to western standards.
Also even if you are dying, you need to pay your (?)6 RMB consultation fee in advance and get a chit to give to the doctor.
