QUOTE: Also be aware that smaller water bottles are often (though I think not usually) second hand bottles, picked up from the street and refilled from the tap. Give them a bit of an inspection, brand name or not.
Reminds me of a High School in Korea. There was a water dispenser in the teachers room that used one of the 5 gallon bottles. When empty, two pupils took it to the toilets and refilled it from the tap which sported a large red label (in Hangul): "non-potable water"! Teachers didn't mind - although they were aware of the situation! Much of the drinking water in the apartments was collected individually from local springs, which were safety checked annually. No faucets - just a drip straight from the rocks.

There are some questions I prefer not to answer. What is in the water is one of them. Drinking tap water in a "third world country" is out of the question in my mind. Reminds me of everyone saying, if you go south of the border, don't drink the water. I know in Shenynang, there is an abundance of flouride, which in small amounts can prevent cavities, in large amounts can cause flouracy, or even worse in some cases. Buying water from a bottle with no name on it would be a mystery to me, might as well drink tap water. Brands of water varying to some degree, I am supposed to trust coke water, but then again I am also concerned given coke is cheap enough to keep using pull tabs here which can cause harm to children or animals.
I tend to prefer wahaha cause I think the name is amusing, also I have never had a problem with the water.
Always check the label there are many companies who use almost duplicate marketing to cash in on the brand name and identity. Trademarks and Branding here are laughable at best.
As for whats in the water.... better left unsaid, assumed it is not safe to drink unless boiled and filtered.

QUOTE: Shanghai's first water bar
(That's Shanghai)
Updated: 2007-01-18 10:54
The next time you are in the mood to sample a beverage you don't have to feel guilty about, you might consider a trip to the Foreign Culture Club. In addition to food and films, the FCC presents Shanghai's first water bar, Aqua.
Jerome La Carrou, owner of the FCC, found his inspiration in his native France last summer, where Collette, a Parisian restaurant, features more than 100 different types of bottled water. La Carrou explains: "They have a concept of matching fine dining and mineral water together; it is absolutely fantastic. They are able to tell you which water to choose (they all have a different pH) according to the dish you are eating."
FCC's Aqua Bar boasts more than 30 varieties of water, including bottles from England, Scotland, the United States, Italy, Norway, Serbia, France, Spain, Canada, Germany, Portugal, Sweden, the Netherlands and New Zealand.
The concept of designer water may seem a bit decadent, but La Carrou is quick to point out that water is more than just what comes out of the tap. Clean, pure water is a health essential, improving your immune system, boosting your energy and sharpening concentration. Perhaps most tempting to Shanghai's fashionable set, proper hydration is essential to maintaining your complexion and fighting the visible signs of aging.
If that's not enough, the Aqua Bar also offers oxygen-enriched water, which is claimed to improve circulation, digestion and memory, while easing tired muscles and polishing the skin. Ogo, the Dutch oxygen-enhanced water, is the beauty product du jour in Paris, London, New York, Sydney and perhaps now Shanghai. Ogo promises 35 per cent more oxygen than typical water, added with a patented process they deem "natural oxygenation". The company's website, www.ogolife.com, features more information on this "breathing water", as well as their canned oxygen pick-me-ups. Or check out www.finewaters.com for a glimpse into the world of water connoisseurs, complete with recommendations and tasting notes.

Oxygen bars have been running in places like Hollywood for at least 5 years now. I have seen a TV special about one that Woody Harrelson (Cheers, Indecent Proposal, Money Train) is part own of.
