Re:Marriage to a Chinese Citizen 1 Year, 9 Months ago
Just spoke to another American friend here who has a Chinese wife. He just renewed his L visa - multiple entry, one year - in Dalian a couple of months ago.
He also thought he might have to leave and asked his wife to call - they just told him to come on down and it would be no problem to renew it.
Sorry, not sure why there has been so much confusion over this, but my guess is people are people are getting mixed up on the renewal of F visas rather than L visas.

QUOTE: so if you are married to a chinese citizen you can just keep renewing your L visa for as long as you want?
Yes, that's correct, you can renew it for as long as you want (one year at a time for 180rmb). However, you can only do it in your husband or wife's home town. If they are not from Dalian you must show proof of owning a property in Dalian, or do it in their hometown.
