Re:quite new in Dalian! definetly new here! 4 Months, 3 Weeks ago
So my original post was:
"Ok, let's try this.
In the attached document you'll find a rough overview over the most important (at least to us) places in five color city.
There are quite a few more bars and restaurants in that area, but I just couldn't fit any more on that page.
Hope this helps."
Unfortunately, I can't get this file uploaded since it's either too big or in a wrong format.
Anyway, I got the file as .doc, .ppt and .pdf now, so if anyone is interested in it, I'll be more than happy to share - just PM me.
PS: Yapi and tuo se teng are getting it without another PM of course.

I will hopefully be visiting Dalian soon, with work - I beleive staying in the zhongshan district. I have heard of a few bars, Strollers and Tin Whistle and found good reviews. Another one is the Li Ly Bar, but cant find any review on this - and views on this is it any good? Whats the atmosphere like etc....

Lily Bar is an old hooker bar across the street from the Tin Whistle (and about 50m to the right).
It used to be popular for the engineer/shipyard expats - not just for the girls as it became the local for many of the above and did have a pretty good atmosphere as a late night drinking den.
But that was all a few years ago. Lily then moved to Denmark (or Sweden?) with her boyfriend/husband and it all went downhill from there. Absolutely dead now.

Good advice slappy. Some of those bars were definately avoidable like lily's/ Amy's/ Maggies/ Guns n Roses unlees you just needed to drink after being thrown out of the "normal estabs"
