From the Carrefour on HuangHe Lu, cross the street and start walking east (right, or towards Olympic Sq.) until you see Xinjianr meat-on-a-stick guys. The bakery is very near there. Very small.
I asked the guy where he learned to bake, and he said he was a chef at Igosso for 4 years. Score.

I really must try this one as I am completely bored with what they call bread here, what happened to Granary/ Multigrains and even batch loaves and cobs if you like white. Tasty bakery is just a no no like feathery spongecake and all this sweetness, if I want dessert, I'll choose it!

I run across the bakery one evening. They offered good discount at the end of the day. The cakes and bread were tasty, and prices were reasonable.

He'll cook up various Western cakes on request, which are great.

I visited this small bakery yesterday evening. Wow,it is really not that big and the decoration is not that luxurious ,but the bread&cake it serves looks very tasty and delicate. And i met the guy who used to be the chef in Igosso and told him all the recommendation about his little bakery on dalianxpat. He is surprised and asked if he has to pay the ad fee!!!!!
Obvisiously,Jim has visited there too. Cos he showed me Jim's name card.
Ps.the sliced bread tastes so soft and healthy.

by the way, I forgot to mention that this guy also makes pizza (though I think I mentioned it under a pizza-related topic).
50RMB for a pizza.
He delivers to my place, cause i live nearby. Not sure what his delivery "radius" is, but it's worth askin. Also (and this is a bummer), he seems to require about 4-5 hours notice if you want a pizza. I used to order them at lunch, and get them for dinner. Though lately, I've been going with pizza boy.

Not tried his pizzas, but the Nepalese bar has great pizzas for around RMB35. Also take 4-5 hours to be cooked as the owner is usually baked herself.

Ha ha! I wish!
Just glad if the forum promotes the good things in Dalian and discusses what needs to improved. Of course, posts are really advertising should be in "Commercial." New site will have paid banner ads.
Anyway, it's good if we are helping some of the small restaurants, bars, bakeries, clubs, attractions get started in Dalian.

This place is in the process of moving. Oven has already gone. The new location is far away from the old location - somewhere near the beach in the South/East.
