veggies- better always to pick yourself, dont buy wrapped vegtables. you can find people sell them at every market, or on the street. be sure to wash them before you eat-there's no awareness here for the dangeres of pesticides.
meet- that's a problem. as of yet i didn't find a good place. i dont recomend buying meat from stree vendors. it's not hygenic here. maybe if you buy frozen meat it will be better.

I got really fed up with quality and prices in carrefor, now I do all my vegetable and chicken/ meat/ fruit/ eggs/ fish/ shellfish etc shopping in the covered market opposite side of the road from carrefor sanba square (behind the hotel on the corner). Excellent quality, nice people and good prices. You just walk from one building through to the other and get everything you want. Wonderful fresh duck and chicken eggs and big chicken half the price of supermarkets. Meat is cut off as you want, what more can you ask for!
