Re:Where to Buy Western Style Oven? 11 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Caronx3, that's what I have in mind for my next biggish purchase (or one of them at any rate) I already have a mid-size toaster-oven, and that's fine for quiche or a small roast, but it's getting a bit old (3 years) and I'd really like something bigger. A full-size floor-staniding model like I had in Canada would be a bit much, but I can see spending 700 or so for a larger counter-top oven. Can my wife see it, though? Guess I'll just have to make another of my disappointingly small lasagnas.

I am also interested in one oven for my new apartment., a 600mmx600mm size one. Just for your reference, I used to found them in following places:
- MyKal (Qing'Ni'Wa'Qiao), around the top floors of the mall, there is a zone of home appliances. I used to saw 2 Italian brands which I have never known. (Maybe because I am Dalian native and not familar with most of western brnads). As a rough idea, prices are around 4~6 k RMB. Around 1 month ago, I saw a GE oven, but the only sample and damaged there.
- I used to see one in "EasternHome" in Jin'San'Jiao, a big mall selling furnitures. I couldn't remember which floor it was. Any way the oven was belonged to a small booth.
- I just learnt of some oven are produced by Southern China Manufacturers. However they are only OEM.

I just now didn't saw any former posts. May proposal maybe isn't what you need.
The oven I refered to is what you western guys used in your kitchen, with circling hot air and decent toasting effect. Those small ones are economical and work, if you don't have strict requirements. One of my friends even got one for less than 300RMB.

I got an electric "toaster" kind of oven and its pretty good, I also got a bunch of charcol from a korean reataurant and fire up a barbeque from time to time. Neither way too expensive, both get job done. remember
its not the size, its what you do with it that counts
