I guess I should post info about my favorite restaurant in Dalian... La Gauche de Milan is a western steak and seafood restaurant located in the middle of the new Xinghai Plaza area next to Xinghai Square (over by the new purple bridge). It use to be located inside Xinghai Square, but they moved to a new place. The first floor and outdoor area are where you can order off of the menu and downstairs is where they have a western buffet.
Just a warning... this place is expensive, but I like it more and more every time I go. The prices seem to be around what I would pay in the US.
Entrees are items such as steaks, seafood, pork chops, sandwiches, etc... They also have some Chinese and Japanese food on the menu, but I have never had any of it. They have a nice assortment of salads and desserts, as well as a pretty good selection of wines.
Prices for salads run from around 22 to 28 Yuan. Entrees run from 68 for Jambalaya to 130 Yuan for a 12 oz ribeye steak. The desserts run about 15 to 30 Yuan. I am not too sure about the rest of the items, but I usually get a ceasar or chef salad, a t-bone steak, a glass of red wine or two, and some cheescake.
They also have menu sets that they change every 3 to 4 weeks. Right now they have an American meal set that they'll have until 8/15. It includes a salad with romain lettuce, fried chicken, macodamia nuts, cheddar cheese; some Maryland blue crab chowder; your choice of entree... fried pork chop, texas pork BBQ, or St. Louis babyback ribs; hazelnut cake with champagne icing; and a glass or red wine for 228 Yuan.
I'm not sure about the buffet, but heard that it is around 80 Yuan for lunch and 120 Yuan for dinner.
