I posted not long ago about "Taco Bell". Now, there is a chance to taste some Mexican delights. A friend of mine told me about in one of the hotels (a five star) here. Maybe, anyone can check it out. Again, it is a little pricey though.

the ramada has mexican. went there yesterday. won't do it again. 140 something RMB for taco shells fresh out of the box, rock hard chicken meat. happily, there were other things on the buffet side. will hit ramada again, but not for their mexican offerings.

Yeah, I went to the Mexican buffet at the Ramada this weekend. I had gone last year as well, just after moving to Dalian, and wasn't impressed with the food either. They had a display of tacos, quesadillas, enchiladas, fajitas, burritos, etc. that they would make for you on the spot. The only thing was that all of them looked nearly identical, some meat inside a cold flour tortilla with some sauce spooned over it. There was no oven to bake the enchiladas or deep fryer for the chimichangas. The one kind of generic white cheese available was used sparingly, and the chips used to dip were not even the regular plain corn tortilla chips but the flavored Dorito-wannabe kind. I probably wouldn't have gone back this year except I was invited by some Mexican friends who wanted to try it out. At least the company was good, and the visiting Mexican chefs at the Ramada had on their mariachi outfits and went around serenading the tables, which was nice. Plus, it's funny how even though it was the same food as last year's buffet, one year in Dalian without any Mexican food made it seem like it tasted better. I really miss my Tex-Mex!

Sorry to hear about that jess214. The one I was referrng to was already over. I mean their promotion was just 11 days in Shangri' La. They are a different group. It was indeed a lot better. Maybe you can ask Jim. I guess he went there once.
