by saying "rich people", i wasn't willing to attack anybody. judging how "vehemently" (does that word exist, btw?) you answered, is it so bad to be rich ?

i'm not whining either. i have a good salary for what i'm doing which allows me to enjoy Dalian life by my way and a lot of other advantages.

my thread just reflected my feelings about this website... maybe i'm just too young to understand its atmosphere ! (hehe)

The first thing I noticed about your post was your avatar and it told me a lot about you.

None of it was good.

The only event sponsored directly by DalianXpat (as noted by admin) is the Sunday Coffee at Starbucks. If you can't swing 20 kwai for a cup of coffee once a week I suggest you look for a better job or learn how to live within your budget.

The other events you see listed are posted by members (getting people to join them at a favorite club or cultural event) or by "advertisers" - NOT DalianXpat.

You may complain about the Shangrila but I notice you conveniently forgot to mention the happy hours where the beers are half price. What's the matter? Can't you afford 13 kwai draughts?

Of the top of my head, I know of only a handful of Xpats on this site earning "western pay" and trust me, I know a number of the very active members here personally.

That being said, please feel free to volunteer your services to create a "cheap" event on behalf of DalianXpat.
