First, Rickus and I have noticed that all posts placed in the Open Chat/Rants and Raves section are not showing up on the main page. What is the deal with that? Is it because some people have been offended, but the mods know there are no rules that have been broken. So, in an effort to shut people up and shut them down, just remove the controversial stuff and keep it hidden?

Second, the utterly banal posts of late have gone totally beyond the joke. I speak of:

PEOPLE, most of these questions have been asked before and asked MANY times! USE the search function!
I swear, the quality of this site has been going down steadily in the past few months. I suppose these posts are going to be the kind we can expect from now on.
The mods effectively forbid any topics that are considered moderately controversial, albeit NOT illegal. The Admins sit back and do nothing while some whiny people complain about their "hurt feelings."
And to think that this site is continuing to grow. Over 3500 members? Bull! Most just come, ask one or two stupid questions, and leave. The people who actually contributed to the site have gone elsewhere because of the quality of posts and the lack of free expression. I used to enjoy having some lively and enjoyable discussions. All that's been conveniently hidden.
If this is what the Admins want this site to become, fine. But it's certainly not doing much for the people who've been here for any length of time. You'll end up with a site of 90% locals who want to "practice their English" with each other and a few expats who don't stick around for more than a few posts.
