Yeah, I like what you said in the end. You know what? Some, they really like it here, I mean in China, and though they may still have other reasons why they don't like it here sometimes, they still prefer to stay here than in their own country, based on what I heard from some of them. I said only some, because only few really feels like being here, and it is normal when one gets to live to another country, same as my cousin in the U.S. Now they want to go back to our country, well after like 16 years or something. I don't know, people are all the same in fact in that we are all subject to biases and appetites and passions. Isn't it?

That leaves a lot of uncovered space to include the non developed, non developing countries! The left outs of the colonization, independence, globalizationprocesses...
Where would you put Zimbabwe?

Are you referring to "most foreigners" in China?
In that case, not only do I contest the assertion (where did you obtain this information?), but also, should it be correct, am failing to grasp the contradiction...
No matter where you go, here you are!

I think it comes down to the fact that many Chinese (especially those who have never done any travelling) take any criticism of China as a personal insult. Yes, the response is usually always "If you don't like it, why don't you just leave."
Whereas, many expats consider criticism a right and, in come cases, a responsibility. Furthermore, many of us have constantly deal with criticisms of our home countries on a daily basis. We've gotten thick skin.
I'm paraphrasing the quote here, but it's the way many (not all, of course)of us feel: While I may not agree with what you say, I will defend to my dying breath your right to say it.
Finally, it doesn't really matter where I live. I'd bitch and moan, regardless. It's just my style.
