What qualification do you need to be a good hotel manager?
Diploma or experiences?
what kind of competences really need a hotel manager?
It actually depends on what type of hotel and what "star". A five star hotel of course need someone who is equal to his tasks and the standard of that hotel. I just think so.

To my opinion:
the manager of the five star apply the policy of the Group. The strategy, the Marketing, the price are decided by the group. The manager just have to manage the employees, the cost profit etc...
Many of them are quite old and at this time no formation existed in China, for manage an Hotel.
What do you prefer, take a local manager with experience and who imposes the respect with this age(it is very important in China)
or
take an qualified, dynamic but unexperimented young manager?
I think that in many cases the first choose is taken.
Moreover good quality service, friendly staff, clean rooms...are not linked with qualifications, in Hotel field.
What do you think?
