Hello again- And thank you all for your input and advice. As far as more details regarding my position. It is teaching English classes at a public university in Dalian. 20 hours maximum per week. We are also paid 1200 RMB on top of that to cover travel costs. THe contract is for 9 months. I will look into other schools and have not signed yet, but what do you think?? Am I getting ripped off?
If the 1200RMB is per month and your travel to the school doesn't cost more than say 300RMB per month, I'd say its a good deal. If they are only paying a one time 1200, then I'd say its not so great. 20 hours per week maximum? Hard to say. If you could do that over 4 days and have a day or two for some part time work, this is decent. If they ask you to come in for 3 hours 1 day, 2 another, 5 another, you see where I am goin with this, maybe not so good. With the information you currently have provided, its hard to say.
