All you X-pats out there,,,what is the most difficult thing for you to get through in China as a foreigner,,? Doesnt matter how long you've been living here,,of course the longer you have the more you've got in your mind ,, ,,for example " This ,I really cant understand why,," Have your say .if you wanna get someting off your chest,,more than welcome..Cheers.

I guess for most foreigners, the most difficult thing to do here in China is to accept the reality that they are in another country and they no longer enjoy the same privileges as they used to enjoy in their own country.
Some even persist in their way of reasoning even it counter produced any results. And why is this, I can think of three things which comprised or compounded this difficulty:
1. Their ability to criticize.
2. Their ability to complain.
3. Their ability to compare.

Zoe, if your belief is that reality is absolute, I can do with that and avoid a futile argument on the definitions of terms...
However, our perception of reality is all we have, and is necessary imperfect (again, refer to the definitions), therefore attempting to define reality as absolute is a vain fallacy, reality is merely a concept. That perception can be imposed on others; I very much prefer discussing with people having the ability to hold several points of view(*), but that is my own personal preference.
As to philosophy books, I only need refer to the children story of "the blind men and the elephant", but thank you for the advice.
(*)your call to take "anyone?" as a witness, tells of your difficulties to hold two points of views, albeit infinite ones... Keep trying!
