That is the main campus for Jiao Tong, er NOT a pretty place, and the regulation will only last a couple of months or so.
Yes, it is the main campus, but in terms of the regulations for living on/off campus, I wouldn't hold your breathe waiting for any change here, regardless of the Olympics. Thepowers that be at this institution seem to love the control factor involved in keeping teachers on campus!
QUOTE:
The second campus may change or even close partly at some stage now that IEN has collasped but it all depends if NMIT take over the courses and the campus as well from them or make a new arrangement with NMIT..
I think the important point here as noted is 'may change or close'. The provosion of NMIT/IEN courses are indeed in a state of flux, but Jiaotong was once feted for its ability to to strike up educational relationships and make money and there is no reason to think that that has/will change, but I guess it will also frprnf on what the owner wants to do with his building and how persuasive in certainareas he can be.
But all that aside, you're off to the main campus. Could be worse ...
You could be sent to Lushun!!! A suggestion: Avoid any offer of Lushun work, even if based at the main campus!!!!
