I want to warn any of you teachers who may have been offered a or thinking of, a job with Grand Canadian Academy in Nanjing China.

For starters, here are some news articles (see below) on this group, and this is only a small representation of the press reports on these guys.

The school is run by Kingston Education Group which has a head office in Vancouver BC and calls itself a "Canadian Highschool".

No"Canadian" educational institution would ever get away with the bullsh*t this school tries to pull off. The teachers contracts in Nanjing stated FULL MEDICAL AND DENTAL COVERAGE.

I got sick, had to be medivaced to Hong Kong and when I got there, waiting to see a surgeon was told by the Principal I had no medical insurance.

I am out approximately $11,000.00 Cdn for expenses associated with this little adventure. I had to then fly back to Nanjing after paying for the flights, and the surgery consult, xrays and ultra sound, hotel room, taxis, meals etc, and immediately fly back to Canada for surgery.

This school does not and did not pay the teachers their salaries. The first pay period, leading into the autumn holiday some teachers received as little as $85 Cdn for their pay for September.

This pay fiasco was not a one time event, it went on and on and on - some teachers who quit are still trying to collect the pay they have coming to them.

Two other teachers had to fly to Canada for medical treatment, one was so ill she didnt return and David Ze, the slime who heads this school in Vancouver is trying to sue her -

BEWARE, and take this very seriously, STAY AWAY FROM ALL THE KINGSTON EDUCATION GROUP SCHOOLS IN CHINA! There are others besides this one in Nanjing and the treatment of teachers is the SAME in all their schools.

This person has a lot of nerve to call himself a Canadian, its time he learned Canada is NOT China and Canadian teachers will NOT be treated the way the Chinese treat Chinese teachers.

I have filed a law suit against them for medical expense, plane fare, lost wages, etc

I have to say the Principal in Nanjing is a wonderful guy, I cant figure out what the hell he is doing being employed by these dishonest, underhanded, lying slime ball employer

Check past articles in The Vancouver Sun newspaper for more press on Kingston Education Group. The Province has also featured them in their newspaper for their dirty dealings.

They run schools in Canada as well for Chinese students and the Chinese Government has issued a warning to all students to NOT attend their schools.

They are ripping off Canadian teachers and Chinese students coming to Canada. They were issuing bogus degrees from an American University they had no association with and got caught.

These are not schools you want to teach in or be a student in. What a crook.

When I was in Canada at the end of last year this was posted all over the Canadian newspapers and TV. It was a real embarrassment for the Canadian education system. Stay far away boys and girls.

I thought I was going to die in China, and never see my kids again, the doctor said I was becoming toxic.

With my financial resources gone I had to borrow money from friends for a flight back to Canada. Because it was an emergency I didnt have the time to book a "cheap flight" and had to fly United to San Fransisco and then on to Vancouver.

I had to buy a membership in an International Clinic in order to see a doctor in Nanjing, that cost me well over $1200 Cdn and then everytime I saw the doctor I had to pay "additional expenses".

Going in for IV antibiotics on the weekend was NOT cheap - during all this time and despite numerous emails and phone calls there was not one word from the Head Office in Vancouver.

The Princial was doing everything he could for me and even offered to pay for the surgery if I couldnt get back to Canada and had to have it done in China. $35,000.00 Cdn. But how could I ever pay that back?

I am flat broke now - cant afford a tank of gas to "get outta town" as they say - and now I have had to engage a lawyer to go after these crooks.

Why does our Government allow this to go on? They ignore letters written to them - The Minister of Education has never replied to any emails, phone calls or letters
