As moderator of this area... I removed a post that should have been listed under 'rants and raves', but as we all know, that area is now a black zone. I have made a copy of the topic thread and if administration instructs me to repost it, I will. I removed it because, that type of trolling is bad for our site. To prosper and grow as a community, let's sit back, and take a break from what had transpired in 'rants and raves'. Let the wounds heal, and in a month or so, with tempered tongues, we may cast opinions again. I hold no judgment against anyone, I am trying to look out for the best interest of this site and what it has to offer the Dalian expiates. We do not need another nuclear meltdown like what transpired with a single 'dog', okay?

Al, let's not be too hasty. The post was effectively deleted, but having read it, I thought that it's points were valid and that it deserved some expression.

We have a small community here. When someone posts a message about the quality of this site and resulting impact on foreigners in Dalian, I could see good reason for it being put in 'General'. I think all constructive and informative posts should be encouraged.

completely agree with you penfold - completely - I believe this sort of thing should have a voting procedure - where we can all agree or diagree to delete or edit peoples opinions if they are slightly too much?

I vote for a majority rules idea, we all decide what should happen and the moderator, of course has the final say - is that not just??

2) Trolling

The post wasn't a direct troll, but the content was a fire starter, as shown by the replies. People take offense and administration had stated to "cool it for awhile". This needs to be left alone so people can heal, see the next rule..

I followed the rules. This is not a Dalian General comment anyway, it is a China comment mainly, and should be in "Rants and Raves". (Rant and Raves thread is where you can complain about whatever you like)

I stated I would give it to admin., because the last post of similarity started a flame war. Some people are still hot and still want to voice their opinion about the old thread, fine, but I do not want the lot of you coming back on me for not stopping a potential "dog" thread again. Jim will decide whether or not to put it back up, that way it's not my throat people will go for when it turns bad.
