advice 1 Year, 6 Months ago
Hi everybody,

I'm new to this forum and was wondering if anybody could give me any advice regarding teaching EFL in Dalian. I have been offered a job teaching for the Dalian Talenty group, starting next January for six months and would be very grateful if anybody could share their experiences with me/ enlighten me as regards their reputation etc. It's very difficult to tell if it's all above board and as I will be moving to Dalian alone (am 23, F) I would like to feel as well prepared as possible. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! PM me if preferred. Thanks!

Use the search function on Dave's eslcafe site
you will find a lot of information about this and the other language mills.
here is one example http://forums.eslcafe.com/job/viewtopic.php?t=7912&postdays=0&postorder=asc&vote=viewresult
And another quote:
QUOTE:
The language mills tend to really test people's sanity over a period of time. The week-end kids class schedules can also be very testing of one's physical stamina, with 7-8 hours both on Saturday and on Sunday of teaching the wild little emperors and little empresses who are only there because their parents make them attend. Many teachers end their Sunday afternoons with a fever and sore throught.
