Welcome to the forum Julia.
I hope you have luck finding someone to share the joy of Beijing Opera with you! I've lived here for over 5 years, but I am yet to meet anybody under the age of 60 who actually likes Bejing Opera.
If I mention Beijing Opera to young people in China, most people people hate it. Why does it appeal so much to you? I'd love to hear your thoughts because it's a real mystery to me. I love Chinese culture, but the moment opera comes on TV I switch it off. What am I missing?
