Well, even taking the danger that this sounds negative: I don't really like the new forum appearance. And to be a little more constructive about that:
1. It's a lot slower on both internet connections I use (home and office)
2. It is too overloaded with colorful side-effects/buttons/blinking signs and so on. Overview was better on the old one. (but that may be purely personal preference)
3. The "Latest Posts" function doesn't work for me. The function always forgets a lot of posts
4. The time displayed next to the posts is 7 hours ahead of the time that I live in here. But maybe I'm behind my time?

5. One page of a thread displays too few posts. This, together with the longer loading time, takes a lot more time when looking through threads
I know there has been a lot of work involved to get it running the way it is, so no offense intended. But as a little example of a realized forum structure that I find great, have a look at the link
www.schanghai.com (yes, with sch, it's a german forum in Shanghai)
and choose the Forum on the left. It's fast, clearly structured without gimmicks to distract from the interesting infos, it has a preview of the thread starter when you hold the mouse over the topic ... I really consider that one of the best realized forums I know (technically, contents are sometimes as open for discussion as here)
