Found this place in the DDA at the East Hotel. Western decorations, western dishes, served in close to western style. The place is clean and well decorated. The staff speaks decent english and is firendly.
The menu is somewhat limited, but includes western classics and a few Asian dishes. So far I have tried the Hamburgers and pasta dishes, all decent. A good place to go for lunch.
The Japanese restaurant inside the East Hotel is also good.
Needing to find some more western food options in the DDA, a few friends and I gave this place a try on our lunch hour. I'd say not bad. The place is clean, service is decent/friendly, and the chef seems eager to please. The place is decorated as a Japanese restaurant which seems a little strange for an Indian Restaurant!! It is inside the Victoria Hotel.
We had some various meat dishes, salads and Loli. I would say that some of the dishes had a very similar curry background flavor, but all were well prepared.
I think the previous reviewer may be a little harsh in rating this place so lowly - maybe I just have lower expectations. I am no Indian cuisine expert. Then again I did stay away from the fish curry.....
Have stopped by this place a few times recently. It is a nice clean bar in 5 Color City, good alternative to the seedier places in the area. Cheap and cold beers, good but weak mixed drinks. Friendly staff that speaks decent english. Usually not crowded at all.
Have not tried any food there. The music is served up from an IPOD, and you can choose the tunes if you wish.....
Nice clean restaurant with a consistent architectural theme? Check.
Clean bathrooms? Check.
BBQ Pork. Very Nice. (Thanks to Bellisomo for the suggestion!)
Mutton Chops. Very Nice.
Mixed vegetable dish. Very Nice.
Cheesecake. The real deal! Best I've tasted in Dalian. I want to try the Oreo cookie cheesecake next time!!
I want to go back and continue working through both the western and chinese dishes. The waitstaff is courteous. The price was reasonable considering the good food, decor and service.
Previously this place was my favorite Italian Restuarant in Dalian. Not sure what has happened - maybe the chef has taken an extended vacation? I recently went for a nice St. Valentine's Day dinner. They had a set menu for the night, with some good dishes on the list. Not overly crowded, but most tables were full.
The food was just mediocre. Appetizer of Salmon (Think Lox) didn't taste all that fresh. Had some tasteless cheese in a tomato and cheese salad dish. Also overcooked mutton chops, seemed like these were not cooked to order but simply warmed up prior to serving. Usually the food here is so much better!!
The service here has also gone downhill. Had some trouble ordering in English. We switched to my bad Chinese and things got better. The timing of presenting the various dishes was way off, sometimes new dishes would arrive before the previous dishes were cleared. Had to resort to yelling "fú wù yuán" to get a waiter to our table several times. I did notice a few other tables having the same problem.
