 Neat yakiniku restaurant,  Tuesday, 17 July 2007 Neat Japanese restaurant. Very good food. A bit challenging to order something unless you can read Japanese or Chinese. They have one English speaking waitress and she was able to help us through the menu. I haven’t seen any tepanyaki.It's a yakiniku restaurant and therefore every table has a grill.You suppose to grill the food yourself but I guess we were lucky.They did it for us. We had a very nice spinach salad(the spinach though was almost inexistent; mostly Chinese cabbage) to start with. The rice dish and the Japanese noodles were very nice. The meat dish came a bit late. We got an explanation which I didn’t understand but most probable they simply forgot to bring it.The service was pretty good(other than the incident with the meat),and not intrusive.
They also have a good selection of coffee. My husband tried espresso and it was very good.
We also added 4 beers and the total damage was 330rmb for 3 people. Not cheap but actually the beer and the coffee were more expensive than the food.
Overall a pretty good dinner.I would like to go back there but with someone who speaks chinese or japanese.I've seen some nice looking dishes on the other tables which I would like to try.

 Excellent gourmet experience,  Tuesday, 17 July 2007 Last night we had dinner at ”Mai Zi Da Wang” (King of Wheat).Absolutely delicious. The variety of dishes is huge. They don’t have a menu but you don’t need one because the dishes(cook or uncooked) are all arranged on counters in front of the kitchen and you just go there with “fu yuan” and order whatever looks appealing to you. It was very challenging for us though because everything was very appealing. The pastries and breads(meat patties,naan-like breads, taro-root patties) were mouth watering. Actually the restaurant is famous for these wheat dishes. We ordered a couple of cold dishes(apple salad was wonderful),4-5 different pastries and breads(all amazing),3 different fish dishes(all delicious) and one beef dish(very good). We were 5 people but we were not able to finish everything. For all the food plus some pastries to go, plus 4 beers we paid 250rmb.
The service was OK(not excellent but not too bad either).The smoke from the kitchen(which is open) might be a bit overwhelming at least at the beginning when you get there. But after a while we got used with it.
Overall a wonderful experience. We will definitely go back there and I recommend it 100%

 Very good dental clinic,  Sunday, 15 July 2007 This is an addition to my previous review. During one of my visits there I was offered anesthesia before a procedure which I was told it was going to cause a bit of pain. Because I’m a wimp when it comes to dental pain I accepted and I was pleasantly surprised to discover that they used the most non-traumatic needle I’ve ever had.
So far we’ve been very happy with this experience and I hope I won’t be disappointed in the future. I still need to go back there for some work on my teeth.

Dr Sha has another clinic on Zhongshan Lu .I visited this one a couple of times.Dr Yang is not the only one speaking English. Dr Chong(I am not sure I spelled it correct) and some of the nurses are speaking English too. The equipment is top notch, they have digital X-ray and everything is spotless. Upon request they will prepare a detailed English claim form for your insurance.
I picked up some rates from their price list:
Cleaning 400rmb
Filling 100-200rmb (different quality materials)
Crowns: 1200-1600rmb depending on the material you’re choosing
Veneers: 2000rmb
Implants: 12000rmb
Both me and my husband we’ve been satisfied with the quality of the dental work we had done at this clinic. We will definitely go back there if we’ll have any more tooth problems.

 Fancy restaurant,  Thursday, 05 July 2007 Very fancy restaurant, pretty pricey for Dalian but the food is excellent. The service is impeccable. From the moment you enter the restaurant until you’re out you get their 100% attention.As I said the food is very tasty and is coming in a good size portion. However, in case you decide to go for a meat main course don’t expect to get a side dish. You better order a salad or other appetizer and ask them to bring it with the main course. I had the grilled meat platter which was a very good selection of beef,chicken,pork and lamb. Very tasty and very tender. If you’re not a meat lover you can still enjoy some nice pasta and pizza dishes .A good selection of wines which can compliment any dish and of course beer and soft drinks. We finished with some delicious desert and a cup of espresso coffee.
The ambience is great and if you get a window table you’ll enjoy a wonderful view of downtown.
We will definitely go back there.

 Perfect for pizza lovers!,  Tuesday, 26 June 2007 Last night we tried The Pizza Company and we had a very enjoyable dinner.We didn’t have too many items but what we had was delicious. We started with some cheese and bacon twists made with puff pastry. Excellent! Pizza was wonderful.We had Deluxe and Canadian bacon with regular crust. Rich in topping and the crust was perfect: crisp on the outside and soft on the inside.
Pizza selection is huge. Different types of crust:cheese crust, sausage and cheese,Triple(sausage,cheese and bacon),thin crust,pizza puffs.
They have more than 20 toppings.A few pizza styles from the menu:seafood cocktail,tropical seafood, bbq chicken,bbq pork,deluxe,Canadian bacon,Hawaiian,vegetarian and many more.Price: S:30rmb,M:53rmb,L:70-80rmb.
Appetizers: chicken wings,garlic bread,bacon twists,soups.16-18rmb each
Pasta dishes:lasagna,fettucine,spaghetti:38rmb
Salad bar:29rmb
Beer:Tzingdao 15rmb,Heineken 18rmb
Soft drinks,coffee,desserts
Service was very good .The only downside: they don’t speak English. But the menu is English and all the dishes are pictured .
We will definitely go back there one day. I highly recommend it.
