Everytime I visit Dalian, this is the second port of call, (After a trip to Tong Xing Ge Sauna). Both are open 24/7 so it doesn't matter what time I arrive.

The Xiao Long Xia are known as Yabbies to westeners, a freshwater cray fish. These are popular in Australia, but very expensive.

Available in a few varieties, spicy, not so spicy etc etc. The Crab is also excellent, the bread is top drawer. I have never had a bad meal here - although I cannot bring myself to eat the chou doufu, probably because I can't get it under my nose in order to get in into my mouth. Chou Doufu is best described as the Chinese equivelant of Stilton or Roqefort Cheese, again I can't get these under my nose....

You are fully equipped with thin plastic cloves to eat here, but they are a bit thin and make Xiao Long Xia difficult to open, my advise is to get in with your bear hands and spend the time to clean up later.....

Sichuan is a basic retaurant and always full of colorful people, particularly in the early hours, the atmosphere is always good, with plenty of staff running around fetching and carrying.

Price is very reasonable too - no complaints.

There are always plenty of cabs outside to get you home too.....

(The owner is Sun Nan, his biggest hit song was Bu Jian Bu San (老地方不见不散), the resturaunt has the same name.....)
