been there 2 times over the past several months-- the newest band leaves a lot to be desired-- almost an amateur group with very average talent-- not good enough for a major dalian hotel. the place was mostly empty, except for the abundance of staff who were attentive and courteous; had 1 drink and left around 10 pm-- maybe later on in the evening it gets more people, but not worth hanging around to find out. have to pay a cover charge added onto your drinks, so not really worth going there -- there are much more entertaining places to go in dalian

visited this western-style restaurant this weekend with my girlfriend; we asked for a non-smoking place and were taken to a long corridor with 1 table-- next to the window with the glaring,annoying flickering Xmas lights-- UGH!!!
the server was delightful, polite,courteous and could speak english; however, after the food arrived we did not see her again for over 30 minutes-- maybe there were not enough servers for the amount of people in the restaurant! my dinner was well-prepared, tasty and with ample portions at a reasonable price-- but it was a little cold, and since the server did not come back, i could not ask for it to be heated in the nuker--
has the potential to be much better, but will need to upgrade its decor and improve its space for non-smokers which a lot of us west people are

This restaurant tries to pull off the duo of serving chinese and western food for its saturday night buffet; my girlfriend and i went for the buffet which had a lot of variety to offer. But in its trying to do both- the chinese and western foods- it does not work well for either. Lots to eat for a reasonable price (49 RMB per person which includes beer and coffee, and dessert). The food quality was just ok-- we will not rush back unless we are really hungry and just want to be filled at a good price. But overall, it lacks the quality and variety of food for most western palates. Salads and pizza run out quickly and are not replenished very often, especially the pizza. The service by young chinese people was very courteous and attentive Results 6 - 8 of 8 |
