Great HOTPOT,  Wednesday, 27 February 2008

Having been stationed in Chengdu ( Sichuan ) for almost 4 years, i was addicted to Sichuan hotpot. Therefore, i needed to find a fix in Dalian.

Luckily there is Huang Cheng Lao Ma Hotpot. The taste is as good and authentic as you can find in Sichuan. All the staff there are from Sichuan including the chefs. Especially the spicy soup base. Haven't tried the non spicy base though because i like hot and spicy.

The decoration is good and the place is clean. However, price is considered steep but will always return as i love the spicy soup base there. 2 persons will set you back about RMB160-200 depending on what you order.

 Washing,  Wednesday, 16 January 2008

Went to the clinic due to the reviews and found it excellent!

I just had my teeth washed there and the location was good.It is very near the olympic square.

When i first walked in, i was impressed at the cleanliness of the clinic and the friendliness of the staff.

I didnt had to wait long before they proceeded.

They even showed me my teeth before cleaning and after cleaning. I was impressed at the end. My teeth looked much cleaner and whiter then before.

This is one of the better clinics with professional staff and i will definitely be back!

Not worth visiting,  Thursday, 25 October 2007

This restaurant is the only thai restaurant that i am able to find so far. This restaurent serves thai and chinese cuisine. Therefore, it is not a fully thai restaurant. The ambiance is great as it is located in a bungalow. Very nice settings.

The menu is all in chinese and does not have much pictures. Therefore, ordering is also quite a problem. But i went ahead and ordered some popular thai dishes such as tom yum soup, chicken wrapped in pandan leaf and pineapple rice. Taste of these food is only about 5/10... very average and not very authentic. if you really crave thai food, this may still be able to satisfy your craving.

Service is ok. Pricing of the food is considered expensive as the above will set you back about RMB150-RMB200.

Will not return unless my friends want to have thai food in dalian.

Great food! Nice settings,  Wednesday, 24 October 2007

Went there based on the review here... when i first walked in, the settings was very pleasant!very 60's with lots of old stuff all over... very nicely renovated.very classic.

With good ambiance,i proceeded to see the menu. Lots of yummy food...nachos,onion rings, bacon rolls, soups, and lots of steak. Price is good too..steak cost about RMB58-88.

the vegetable soup is fantastic served in a nice bowl too! 10/10
The T-bone steak is overly done becos i told them to do 80% - Regreted...
however, the black pepper sauce is also fantastic 10/10.

Overall, per person will set you back about RMB100.

Overall rating is "have to come back"

 Nobody.....,  Monday, 15 October 2007

I went there last night based on the reviews... There was only 2 persons there. I sat down and saw the menu... Their Ala carte only has 2 choices...The other choices were not available.. i was disappointed...they only served their angus steak set menu...

I didnt order and left utterly disappointed..
