Great seafood, but Tim Sum so so...,  Thursday, 03 January 2008

First time I was there I had sashimi platter and lobster sashimi, fantastically fresh. Some other cooked stuffs are pretty much of local taste, so I would say not bad. Cost a bomb though, but value for money, I really don't mind.

Second time I was there was for the after 9pm Tim Sum. The Cheong Fun was a bit too tough for taste, and the meat wrapped in was too salty, not what I like. The porridge served is great!! They have a few variety, tried the fish porridge and century egg with minced meat, both wonderful. The steam prawn dumpling wrap was too thick, not of my liking. But the cost is really very comfortable.

On the whole I would still visit the place for a fresh plate of sashimi. Real yummy, but not too often as it's too pricy.

Ok place for live band,  Thursday, 13 December 2007

Expensive place, but considered ok, because it's in a hotel, price tends to be steep.
Good sound system. Great place for guys, as I personally would call it a pick up joint. A group of ladies lingering at the bar counter waiting to be picked up by expat.
Good ventilation system, I didn't feel so breathless.
Band sings well, and can minger well with crowd.
Food, no comments, cos didn't eat there.
Drinks not too bad, hotel standard, more mixer than liquor.
Crowd is a mixture of expat and locals, most likely would be from shangri-la.
Don't mind going there again.

More of a local hangout,  Wednesday, 05 December 2007

Been there once with my local colleagues. Not a place i'll visit again, poor ventilation very smokey. Waiters keep opening beer bottles for us, like pushing us to finish our dinks fast to order more. Music is chinese techno and pop, something which i do not fancy myself.
Did not see any foreigners around all locals. A couple of chinese gils pole dancing, which i dun think i'll classify as pole dancing.

Good place for Locals, not so much of a foreigners,  Wednesday, 05 December 2007

My local colleagues brought me there once. Not a place i'll visit again. Keep pushing for us to finish our drinks, think they want to sell more. Music chinese techno and pop. Didn't try the food, so can't rate it, ventilation not very good, so it's pretty smokey, a couple of chinese girls, Great figure pole dancing, but not hot enough...hahaha...
Mainly locals inside, haven't seen any foreigners around.
