Yes to Brooklyn Bar..., Monday, 14 July 2008
Ahhh yes, this weekend started off on the right foot with an evening at
the Brooklyn Bar on Boulao Jie. Some friends and I went there to have a
few cocktails after work and just generally unwind from the week. As
usual as soon as we stepped in the door the smells of food tempted our
taste buds and I wanted to try one of their pizzas.
My friends both had some kind of orange cocktails and I was drinking a
really, really cold, Corona. They changed to some kind of martini, I
think, it was a little difficult to keep track of their drinks when
there was so much more going on around me. Like the food! The pizzas
was so good and made to perfection. The deal is the same as most
places, you have a pizza base and then pay for the toppings you want on
it.
Half way through the first pizza another group of friends walked in the
door and then a little later some more friendly people came through the
door and before long the place was really jumping. The conversation was
good, the drinks were flowing and the very competent staff serving us
was taking orders and bringing food, all the while catching the humor
and keeping up with the job of clearing the table. I was really quite
impressed by this place. It does feel like a place where friends do go
to meet and eat.
I
wish I could tell you what I had payed... I do not know when things are
that good you don't mind what they charge... It was worth it though and
I will be back
