- You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually orientated or any other offensive material.
- No personal attacks or insults: feel free to discuss opinions, but keep it to the issues. No name-calling or personal insults.
- All views and opinions expressed on this site are those of the author and not those of the web-master, except for posts made by the web-master
- Posts that violate the laws of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) or may bring trouble to this website or the webmaster will be deleted immediately without further notice.
- Links to external websites are allowed. There is a limit though. The web-master reserves the right to delete any link without prior notice.
- Posting of advertisements for products or commercial services is only allowed in the ‘Commercial’ or ‘Classifieds’ sections and nowhere else!
-No multiple postings: find the board you want your post in and post it. Posting the same message in multiple forums is not allowed and will be deleted. - Spammers will be banned without prior notice. This includes sending random private messages to members.
- If the thread turns from serious discussion into a chat room, the thread may be locked. Users are encouraged to use private messages (PM’s) for chatting.
- If the thread is deemed inappropriate for the board, it will be locked; but if it belongs in another forum it might just be moved. Please check the right category before you post.
- If you have nothing to say then don’t post anything! Simple! Do not post a message just because you feel bored and have nothing better to do. Worthless and nonsensical posts with no content eat up space and waste everyone's time.

The language of communication for posting in the Forum and Shout Box is English.
However, when posting the address of a shop, restaurant, business or a new "review"; English will be the primary language (utilizing pinyin as necesary). Chinese characters may also be used as a secondary means of communication, this will allow a member to print out the address in order to be able to pass the destination on to a taxi driver.
- All complaints need to be communicated privately by using either a PM or by Email.
- Posting of inflammatory messages (trolling), with the sole purpose of generating a response, is not allowed. Please do not reply to such messages, as they will only encourage the offender to post more. Rather, report these to a moderator and they will be dealt with accordingly.
- Do not disclose any other member's email, real name, address, phone number, IP address or other personal information.
- You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless you own the copyright. If you would like to post an article from another site, like a news site, please add a link to that site AND also include the author’s name and other source material.
- Be tactful in your responses - if you disagree with what someone has said, please do so in an elouent matter, flaming and swearing is not only prohibited here, it makes you appear foolish and incapable of intelligent thought. No one likes a troll, so please abide by that all-too-common, but apt rule -- "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all."
- Relationships and Sexuality. Sex is a part of our life. Relationships for expatriates, especially those who have a relationship with a “local”, can be an important issue. Discussions about these matters are delicate, treat the people that want to discuss these matters with respect, and remember that this is a public place.
- If you ever feel uncomfortable here, for whatever reason, don't hesitate to contact an administrator or a moderator.
- You must register to post messages and you cannot post anonymously. If an administrator or a moderator has doubts about your identity, either before or after activation of your account, you may be questioned. If this happens to you, please keep in mind that we do this only to keep this forum peaceful and trouble free.
- This forum is not for personal crusades, no matter how noble they may seem. Anything that starts to look like that will be stopped. Crusaders are kindly advised to start their own forum, and may leave a note on this forum that they did.
- Personal Stories: Personal stories about experiences with foreigners, Chinese people or companies in this forum are welcome - either good or bad stories. But please use good taste, try to be factual, constructive and avoid unnecessary or personal accusations.
- Don't hold back. These stories need to be told. People that live here or are planning to live here can benefit from your experiences. That's what this site is for.
- If you have any doubts about publishing something, please discuss it with an administrator or a moderator via a private message (PM).
