Address (Chinese): 中山区鲁迅路2号(中山广场旁)
Address (Pinyin): 2 Luxun Lu
District: Zhongshan
Directions: Directly off of Zhongshan Square, 100 meters down on the left.
Telephone Number: 8210-9060, 8210-9070

Support Japanese food. Selections are here: seafood (fish and shellfish), beef ( Kobe beef), chicken, pork and lamb with a wide selection of vegetables, noodles, rice and soups.

You can start your meal off with a garden salad, sushi or sashimi. either go ala Carte or call you can eat.

Seating is available from 1 person to a group of 20 (although I suggest no more than 16). For groups of 5 or less, meals are prepared in the kitchen and brought to the tables. A personal chef and seating is available for groups of 6 and 10; for a larger group (up to 20) a private room is available with 2 chefs.? Any seating requiring a chef must be booked in advance.? I highly recommend having your own chef and choosing the all you can eat option. The cost is 200RMB/person, but well worth it; this includes ALL the beer and Saki (hot or cold) you can drink!

You will not leave hungry or sober!

Sashimi and Booze!, Monday, 26 May 2008

Written by Slinner   -  View all my reviews  - Top 500 Reviewer

What a great restaurant! I have only been here for just over one week and have found getting good food that I like very difficult so maybe I should try lots more places before giving a review but I found the food just fabulous, the service second to none, the entertainment of the personal chef well... highly entertaining. It is a bit pricy compared to local food but then Japanese food is always more expensive because of the quality. I only went for the Salmon and Tuna sashimi and prawn fried rice with a good helping of Asahi beer and saki which was loads but the people beside me had an "all you can eat and drink" for 200rmb and I will definately go for that next time (make sure you don't have work the next day!!!).

This place is very easy to miss as it does not say "Japanese" on the outside. It is the first restaurant on the left of LuXun Lu as you are walking from Zhongshang Square (or circle!).

name changed into Tairyo (group), delicious food,, Saturday, 01 September 2007

We went to this Japanese restaurant which is called Tairyo now - I don't know when the name has been changed but I was a bit confused when I saw that the restaurant is called "Da Yu" on this site. But, looking at the address and directions given it must have been the same.

The menu has clear pictures of the food with English subtitles! The food was really great. If you say in advance that you want to have dinner for the RMB 200,00 you can eat and drink as much as you like. We had a salad, sushi, beef, 3 kinds of fish, fried rice, soup, dessert and as much beer and sake as we wanted (and we could even order more food if we wanted). One minor point; you had to eat very fast to keep up the pace the cook in front of us....

Da Yu Japanese Teppanyaki Ala Carte Buffet, Sunday, 03 June 2007

Written by jondlc   -  View all my reviews  - Top 500 Reviewer

I was introduced by a Japanese tenant when I was staying in Somerset previously about this place. Finally got a chance to go there recently and I must say that this place is really good as compared to Hong Ye (red leaf) which also charges RMB 200.00/pax.

Da Yu has Northern Pole Clams for it's sashimi menu and the chef exactly do all the cooking infront of the guests on the Teppanyaki counter. Seafood, beef and even fried rice.

The price is a it steep for Dalian's standard as it's counterpart in Shanghai also charges same price with almost the same menu. However, if you are a person who enjoys sashimi and teppanyaki plus you can down a few drinks, it is certainly worth a try.

Enjoy!
