The food here was EXCELLENT! I went for the buffet which was way
underpriced as far as I was concerned. I think the cost was 38
RMB/person and they bring out about 15 different types of meats and
give you a slice or two of each. On top of that, there is a buffet
that has a lot Chinese and Western foods, a decent salad bar, fruit
selection, and massive dessert table. Simple beverages such as sodas,
tea are included, as well as an ice cream bar with about 10 different
flavors. The decor is interesting and will keep you occupied while
you're allowing your food to settle in between the meat servings. The
service was really good, but the only downside is that one person MUST
remain at the table at all times, so if you're in a small group (two
for instance), it is not possible to go to the buffet and discuss the
selection with your entire party or ask questions of someone who may
be more familiar with a particular item. But that isn't really a big
deal. They brew their own beer which I haven't tried, but judging
from how many jugs I saw on the tables around us and being carried by
the servers, it must be pretty good.
The worst part of the experience is after you get home, you'll have
absolutely no strength to do anything but slip into a "food-coma" and
pass out.
I will definitely be going again, and would highly recommend it to
anyone else!
Yes- this is the meat lover's paradise. However, it does take that special type of meat lover since the majority of the meat items are unusual (atleast to me): Chicken hearts, various tongues and livers, squid, etc. There were only two meat items that I ate- bacon wrapped chicken, and the sirloin piece. NOTE- You get one small piece (bite) of each meat item. It is not an all you can eat meat buffet. So, if you really like sirloin- you will only get one piece. In this sense, it may not be worth the money.
However, the beer is awesome.

Golden Hans Microbrewery and Restaurant, Wednesday, 16 May 2007
Greetings to you , I trust you are well. Having noticed the request for reviews of restarants ,I went to the trouble to take notes at a place called Golden Hans Brewhaus or Golden Hans Microbrewery depending on which side of the door you read upon entering the establishment.
At Golden Hans there was a chinese buffet plus desert bar with soft ice cream, fruits and hot chocolate.( note: look on the desert bar for dark rye bread.) The waitresses were dressed in European /German beermaiden attire. Working Copper distillation flasks were a part of the decor.
Before 4 pm the beer is included in the 38rmb standard all inclusive price. 4 types of in house beer- 2 amber "big wheat" little wheat", 1 dark/black and 1 green. The green was actually nice to me. Beer was a bit slow coming to the table but it is mainly an eating establishment not a bar. Plus when we were there the place was packed and the beer maidens were running their little feet off.
After 4 pm the beer is 6 rmb/mug.
20 varietes of meat were brought to the table( once again included in the 38rmb price), a veritable carnivore feast. Be hungry! We went there for a late (2pm) Lunch on Saturday.
In my mind it was a good value for the money. Check it out for yourself.
