This simply decorated establishment lives up to its name, serving a plethora of fresh and well-prepared seafood, ranging from abalone and shark fin soup to  clams and oysters. This popular restaurant is often packed with crowds hungry for seafood delicacies or for the dim sum served only after 9:00pm.

Sea food, but can not read, Saturday, 12 January 2008

I recent took my wife to the Fisher Man's Wharf on her birthday. We tried various food that all tastes wonderful. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone for that special occasion. However make sure you bring a local friend along as the menu is not in English and the staff speaks very little English. So if you do not bring someone who can read the menu you are ordering from pictures.

Good ambience, Tuesday, 08 January 2008

I have been there more than 5 times I think.I like the food there, but they do tend to get very crowded after 12midnight on weekends or public holidays. sashimi is my favorite and they serve it very fresh there. The ambience is good with high ceilings, can't stand the low low ceilings as it feel suffocating. The cost is HIGH. but worth the money though.

I will still go for dinner and/or supper.
===================================================================

Went there last Friday for a company dinner (about 30 people). Tried the desert, (forgot the actual name) Banana roll and golden buns stuffed with duck yolk n butter. Geoduck sashimi, lobster sashimi, steam fish, and lots and lots of food........ Love............. the dishes. And the cost of it all is................ ahem...... lucky we're not the one paying.....

As we're seated in two separate rooms and I think the waitress are too busy they tend to forget what we've ordered. Its ok as it’s not in the final bill.

Fantastic food and ambiance..

Great seafood, but Tim Sum so so..., Thursday, 03 January 2008

Written by Wolfbreezer   -  View all my reviews  - Top 10 Reviewer

First time I was there I had sashimi platter and lobster sashimi, fantastically fresh. Some other cooked stuffs are pretty much of local taste, so I would say not bad. Cost a bomb though, but value for money, I really don't mind.

Second time I was there was for the after 9pm Tim Sum. The Cheong Fun was a bit too tough for taste, and the meat wrapped in was too salty, not what I like. The porridge served is great!! They have a few variety, tried the fish porridge and century egg with minced meat, both wonderful. The steam prawn dumpling wrap was too thick, not of my liking. But the cost is really very comfortable.

On the whole I would still visit the place for a fresh plate of sashimi. Real yummy, but not too often as it's too pricy.

Great Food, Saturday, 20 October 2007

Fisherman's Wharf is a good seafood restaurant. They have general seating as well as private rooms (upstairs). The seafood tanks are at the back of the general seating area on the ground floor. You can order your seafood from the seafood tanks and they also have a menu with lots of pictures of the dishes on offer. I cant remember correctly but I am quite sure that they have english on the menu too.

Many of the dishes on offer on the menu are very good. They also have good cantonese dishes. Afetr 9pm, this restaurant has dim sum, usually pushed out on carts, whilst some are displayed on buffet style tables near the entrance on the ground floor. This is just a matter of pointing to the dish you would like and signalling that you want one of them. For the more adventurous they have some marinated shell fish on offer usually and i highly recommend these. Quality of dim sum is only 6 out of 10 but its not too bad for what you can get in Dalian afetr 9pm.

Decent service, medium pricing, good environment (no fluorescent lights) and interesting menu makes this place one of my favourites in Dalian.
