Santa Fe was wonderful, Wednesday, 17 September 2008

I took a preview trip for my upcoming job in Dalian. Santa Fe personnel met me at the Dalian airport (even though my flight had been delayed by 5 hours), and provided transportation to the Shangri-La. The "Welcome to Dalian" bookbag they gave contained local magazines and information on the area, which was very useful.
I had two days of being driven around with the rest of our tour group. Since most of the readers of this review have spent time in Dalian, I probably don't need to amplify on the automotive experiences of travel on local roads. I'm really glad I won't have to drive when I get there.
The tour guide (Lucy) was excellent, providing some basic language skills (let's practice counting to 10!) and pointing out interesting local scenery. She took us to some really good local restaurants, and we got to do a bunch of the touristy stuff along with some locals areas.
Overall, I can't think of anything more that Santa Fe could have done to make the visit more pleasant and informative.
By the way, if anyone from Santa Fe reads this, Tell Lucy that Tim said "Hi, and thanks for the wonderful time! See you in June!"
