Taking advice from some other members on this board, my wife and I decided to contact Gaofei from Love My Home real estate services. We are now happy to report that we have found a beautiful apartment in Kai Fa Qu, and that the process was quite painless thanks to the professionalism and hard work of our agent Gaofei.
We arranged to meet at the train station and proceeded to look at 4 apartments that she had arranged for our viewing. Once we decided on our ideal apartment, Gaofei worked hard to get us everything that we needed for a price that fit our budget. The service did not stop there. A few days later, we were picked up at our temporary accomodations (25 KM away) and moved into Kaifaiqu. Upon our arrival Gaofei and her co-workers arranged for our registration at the police station, and also had an internet agent visit our home to set up internet access.
All of these services were provided to us free of charge. Apparently in China, the apartment owner is responsible for paying the agent, not the prospective renter.
I have already recommended Gaofei and LMH to many of my fellow teachers, and 2 of them have raved about getting similar service. If you are moving to the Dalian area, and wish to make the apartment hunting process an easy one, contact LMH. We are very happy that we did.
