We ate at two Subways in Dalian last year. The American fast food franchises in China are somewhat different than the counterpart franchises in the United States and Canada. Unlike Pizza Hut and Taco Bell, the Subway restaurants here are more similar to the restaurants in North America.
However, I noticed that, in Dalian, the bread does not seem as fresh nor are there as many variety of cheeses as the American counterparts.
The cost is comparable to American fast food, which is more expensive then the small neighborhood family resturants here.
Still, if you want a western sandwich, the food is good and the price is reasonable.
typical subway sandwiches, as they make it...they have promos every now and then..like combo meals and the like...staff speaks good english...though it seems to be dark inside..due to the decor...but overall good...
